How New York is Really Pittsburgh

Worth a read, a diasporan blogs from New York:

A Twisted Cable Fable – How New York is Really Pittsburgh

Also from New York: I don't see how the NYT thinks it can do justice to the topic in all of 3 short paragraphs, but they have a blurb today on touring from Washington, DC to Pittsburgh by bike.

and speaking of the TV column. For those with cable, this weekend you can watch Jeff Goldblum's mocumentary Pittsburgh. on Starz, Sunday at 10pm.

Well, I will comment on TCF too, but I think he is fundamentally wrong. We, i.e. PIT, was not really part of colonial PA. It was a tiny unaffiliated frontier town. Both PA, and VA claimed us, and it was not resolved until 1780. We are more like a unqiue state of WPA, than PA.

You can certainly see that the current power structure, Gov and Senators, of the state has nothing to do with PIT. It is based in east coast blob of Scrant-adelphia.

WPA is more appalachian, like WVA. The civil war split VA.

OH is the gateway to the midwest. It says so on their turnpike with that mini-arch. Do we have a mini-arch?
