Any guess on the location?
There aren't that many parts of Pittsburgh where flat streets intersect on angles like that; plus, the church in the background looks Byzantine or Orthodox - must have been some Slavic influence in the neighborhood.
East Liberty? Lawrenceville?
Or is this perhaps a town near Pittsburgh, but outside the city limits?
The comments that accompany the photo say it's in Homewood, around 1700 block of Tioga St., to be exact. Of course, the area looks nothing like that now. Seems like the church could have been on Hamilton Ave.
