Remember, the June news on jobs is relatively bleak for Pennsylvania, as it is for most other states, and even for the nation as a whole. What is up locally? Here is the net change in jobs between May and June in each of the last 21 years:

Given the unusually weak May combined with the unusually strong June, is it possible there is some quirk to the seasonality, reporting, etc. this year?
I'm not denying we seem to still be chugging through this period better than most places, but this two-month swing seems rather extreme to me.
Summer workers? College and High School aged Kennywood and community Pool employees?
Gus only sells balls in the summer, too.
