Battle of the (in)significant digit

So yeah.. I know is there is this modernism called the wild card in baseball.  Forgive me for not quite understanding since I don't think the wild card existed in professional baseball the last time the Pirates even thought about going to the playoffs.

Anyhow...  I figure the team's Mendoza number is 9 right now?
