not that LQ

So here is a measure of Pittsburgh's LQ.. not its location quotient but its Logistics Quotient?? This recent Business Expansion magazine article has rated MSA's according to best infrastructure for logistics. While we don't seem to appear in the top 10 they do put Pittsburgh in their list of 5 star MSA's which seems to put us in the top 20% of all MSA's for what its worth. As part of that they rank us number 4 overall in railroad infrastructure.

Get real, there are absolute geographic barriers to Pittsburgh being a dominant logistics hub. It could be much stronger than it is in air and rail, but there are limits.

We are also 23 in terms of interstate highways, but 329 (out of 362 metro areas ranked) in terms of condition of roads, which to me is another argument against building the Mon Fayette Expressway in favor of fixing existing infrastructure. We are also 332 in taxes and fees, so why build a new toll road (fee) that will have to be built with an increase in taxes?
