one week to go

One week until we all go vote right?

Need to figure out where to vote? I will put links to my google map mashups below. But I don't want to confuse anyone. The dots that google puts onto the maps are not the polling place locations, they are just there for reference.

To figure out where your polling place is located, or to check your registration, Allegheny county has a really good online Polling Place Locator. Check it out now if you have never voted here before and want to confirm where to go next week. It also allows you to check that your registration has been recorded which could be helpful if you recently registered or re-registered.

Actually, both my maps and the county site have been superseded by the new Google Votes site which will tell you where to vote (note I have the correct link this time around, previously I had linked to googlevote.com which is something defunct and possibly fake, although what is weird is that it comes up first in a google search of all things for "Google Vote", go figure)

But if you want to play with the voting district maps try:

City of Pittsburgh Voting Districts

Also:

Allegheny County outside the City of Pittsburgh
Armstrong County
Beaver County
Butler County
Fayette County
Washington County
Westmoreland County
Philadelphia
Montgomery County

and Eliz. P. pointed out in the past that you can just download the *.kmz files and load them directly into google earth where they run much better. If you want to just get the *.kml or *.kmz files directly they are here:

Allegheny County outside the City of Pittsburgh
Armstrong County
Beaver County
Butler County
Fayette County
Washington County
Westmoreland County
Philadelphia
Montgomery County
