I don't get it.
Judge (later Justice) Papadakos, former mayor, refrained from enforcing the law (in league with the sheriff) to help property owners who had not paid mortgages, and rode the ensuing populist wave to the state Supreme Court.
Judge Wettick, never a politician so far as I am aware, is attempting to enforce the law (against the grain of nearly every elected official in the county) to help property owners who have been unfairly mistreated by an unconstitutional property tax system, and has indicated he is at the sunset of his career with no apparent higher aspirations.
What is the relevance of former Justice Padadakos to the current circumstance?

I don't understand either, but when I googled "'Judge Nicholas Papadakos'.eom" I learned that this post was plopped in the Weather Underground (wunderground.com) news feed for Mozart, WV. Which amused me for some reason. Greetings to any visiting, meterologically inclined Mozartians! Professor Briem is usually not this meta.

The Post-Gazette has a wonderful article from January 11, 1979 titled, "Garbage In, Garbage Out."
Judge Papadakos actually all but took over the property assessment office in Allegheny County for several years. and that was just because he found the triennial assessments then being conducted a bit less than fair.
Funny thing is that when he gave it up there are quotes from local county commissioners all but saying they didn't want the job back.
and on the GIGO editorial... that's a great editorial. Now google the report it referencs which is called the "Jaffurs report". Alex Jaffurs only passed away last fall, I never understood why nobody ever called him up to comment on more current assessment miasma.

I know nothing of which you speak.....
actually there is a bit of Heisenberg effect going on sometimes. Some things I mention and then the blog post itself shows up in the google results. So in the vast google presence of Mr. Schoenenberger.. the blog post here shows up on page 1 of the results I get from Google. Just a bit below some dentist of similar name and some reference to a Schoenenberger in a book about hunting Big Foot. I just don't want to know about that one.
