много снега

From an anonymous commenter in an earlier post, but can't pass up the international news via the BBC:

Russian capital Moscow covered by record 63cm snowfall

63cm could be awfully close to 25 inchs.  What was our snow total, or Philadelphia's, for that matter?

The line about 15 thousand pieces of snow removal equipment is almost funny.   I wish I could remember all the jokes in a lecture I once had on old Soviet humor.

The only one I remember well is the one with the punchline,"It's worse than that. They're out of bullets too."

Though not Plutocratic Russia, Copenhagen has some nifty snow slinging capabilities:

What does "Mhoro Chera" mean? And what's with that six-pointed "X" letter they have in their alphabet? And how come they write the letter "R" backwards? Are they dyslexic or something?
