To fiber or not to fiber

Funny little thing of note.  PG is catching up on the news from last week that Forbes is ranking us as most livable.  Trib coincidentially is running a breaking news headline right now of same, but the link they have goes directly to the Forbes article itself

What is curious is that the Forbes article, along with the first version the PG ran of this, talks about us thusly:  Pittsburgh, a test site for the company's new high-speed broadband network.

So did we win the google competition? Hmm.  I think the fact that the latest version of the PG blurb on this has excised that line tells me someone checked and the Forbes folks might have stretched their point a bit.  If they had the secret gouge on who won the Google fiber competition, I doubt they would bury it in that obscure place.

I will just add what I said on this last week...    namely "What is that picture they (Forbes) have there? Looks like a bike trail?? A bike trail in the city??? Oh, nevermind."

I salute your (correct and appropriate) use of the term "gouge".

I actually didn't realize it was not popular vernacular. I get my worlds confused sometimes.
