Gobs R us

A great new interactive data source from the Energy Information Administration: Coal Monitor.  If you call up the interactive map for Pennsylvania, you can look at every coal mine in the Commonwealth. If I understand the map, it looks like there is just one coal mine in Allegheny County that is both active and producing at this time (not excluding one classified as 'refuse,' meaning I believe it is really coal reclamation from our surfeit of gob piles).  That is amazing considering where we have been.
