Not voting with their feet

Just in case you doubt Pittsburgh's continuing demographic exceptionalism, this one figure pretty much says it all. The important point is that much, if not all of that, is a legacy in the making over several decades, if not longer.

I assume the census has natural population change, net migration, and a really small category for test tube babies.

Amazing how dramatically different our "natural population change" is from even a place like Milwaukee.

Even you expand this to "Top 50 metros"... #50 Buffalo is the only other "million-person" metro that comes close to Pittsburgh... flirting around 0.0% for natural population change in recent years.
